The security and wellbeing of each resident and staff member is a high priority for Academia management, and significant resources are directed to achieving these goals. The perimeter is secured, there is 24-hour controlled access and the campus is monitored by closed-circuit television cameras.

In addition to security officers permanently at the vehicle entrance there are additional officers on foot patrol, and consequently residents must be aware of their responsibility for adhering to Academia’s Code of Conduct. The foot patrol officers are easily recognisable with their high-visibility jackets and always carry an identification card.

Residents must use the University-issued student card to gain access at the turnstile gates and those with motor vehicles need to register at the office and obtain a license disc which must be displayed on the front windscreen at all times. No non-Academia resident’s vehicles or third party parking is permitted.

Security officers monitor access to the Academia premises. No visitors are allowed to drive onto the premises however, outside parking and walk-in access upon sign-in at the security gate is permitted. A strict visitor protocol is maintained.
